2003 RESULTSEntry Form The Powerhouse paddle committee in conjunction with local paddling and swimming enthusiasts and lifeguards is proud to present the fifth annual Powerhouse Paddle on SUNDAY, SEPTEMEBER 21, 2008 This Del Mar beach event is an opportunity for adults and youth to participate in a challenging yet friendly ocean competition.
The Powerhouse is a Del Mar landmark rich in history. The Powerhouse began as a power plant in the 1900s, was a nightclub in the 1950s, served for a time as an experimental desalinization plant, and thanks to countless volunteer hours and donations now serves as the Del Mar Community Center. Del Mar Powerhouse Paddle 2006 is fun for the whole family. Beginners are welcome! See you at the BEACH
POWERHOUSE PADDLE SCHEDULE - subject to change 0630 - 0830 a.m. Registration and Check-in (Breakfast Served by JAKE'S Del mar) 0900 a.m. Youth 1 Mile & Youth 2mile (15 and up) Races 1000 a.m. Adult 6 Mile Race Starts 1005 a.m. Adult Novice Race Starts less than 1 mile 11:30am - 12:30pm Raffle and Prize Giving
Awards Ceremony and opportunity drawing sponsored by RUSTYS Del MarSpace is limited to the first 250 entries The Paddleboard race
- Kids races may run in seperate age group heats, depending on number of entries
- Entry includes cool hooded sweat shirt, breakfast, lunch, race, keepsake and award.
- Foam Paddleboards will be made available for each contestant in the youth event. 15 -18 yr and novice can use a paddleboard
- Del Mar Lifeguards will provide safety for the event.
- Race distances will vary per age group 15+ and novice will be aprox 1 mile
- Each contestant in Youth race will receive an award
- Awards given to top 5 in each adult category
- Adult Paddleboard Race starts by the Del Mar Powerhouse distance ~ 5 miles
- Beach start and finish conditions permiting
- Scholarships available for participants in the Youth Race
- FREE Parking at the Del Mar Train Station with Registration
